みなさまのKFFが軽井沢町の共催イベントとなり、進化します！2026年度開催に向け、軽井沢町に「レガシー」（未来へ残すべきもの）の構築を目指し、作品を募集いたします。守りたい自然や風景、大切な人との思い出などを私たちに魅せてください。写真生誕200周年を迎え、そしてKFFの開催３年間を振り返って2023、2024、2025年に撮影された写真が募集対象となります。より参加しやすくなった「KFF AWARD」に応募しませんか？

応募要領
（応募者は、応募前に必ず最後までお読みください）
「レガシー」、それは過去から未来へと継承するべき大切は遺産を意味する言葉です。
2026年：写真発明200周年を迎えます。今まで、世界中の人たちが撮影してきた思い出、人物、風景などは人類のレガシーであり、いつまでも残しておきたい未来へのレガシーでもあります。軽井沢フォトフェストもこれを機に、「軽井沢」という場所にて新たなレガシーを築くべく、特に次世代を中心に、軽井沢を愛する人々の文化祭へと成長してまいります。
あなたにとって大切な語りたいことを、写真を通して私たちに魅せてください。プロ・アマ、カメラ・スマホ、年齢・性別や国籍を問わず、どなたでも応募いただけます。
本年度から、審査は４つのジャンル区分によって行われます。
1 自然・風景
2 静物・建築
3 人物・暮らし・食
4 鉄道・街道 ・旅
応募者は、ジャンルを選ぶ必要はございません。全て審査側でジャンル分けをし、国内外の著名な審査員によって審査が行われます。
応募部門｜２部門 （単写真部門 / 組写真部門 ：10枚１組)
撮影対象期間｜
単写真：2023年、2024年、2025年に撮影された写真。ただし、過去のKFFに入選して展示された写真は、対象外となります。（その他の公募で展示された作品、又は過去のKFFに応募しても入選せず、展示されなかった写真は応募可能）
組写真（シリーズ）：2023年、2024年、2025年に撮影された写真が最低でも1枚含まれていること。現在継続中のシリーズ、または上記3年のいずれかに完成されたシリーズは応募可能です。また、過去のKFFで単写真部門で入選した写真を組写真の一部として応募することは可能です。

注意事項｜
１ 単写真部門では、すでに過去のKFFで展示された作品は単写真の部では対象外となります。
２ 組写真部門では、過去に単写真として展示された作品でも、新たなシリーズとして組んだ際は提出可能です。
３ 地域無制限の部：組写真シリーズのみ地域無制限の部があります。
４ 組写真は原則10枚１組。審査の際に、応募者のストーリー作りや物語を評価するために、国際基準である最低10枚に設定しました。
応募費用｜
単写真：最初の5枚までは無料・それ以上のエントリーの際は5枚毎に2500円（税込）
組写真：1シリーズ10枚で、軽井沢及び周辺地域：1組2500円（税込）
地域無制限の部：1シリーズ10枚で、1組5000円（税込）
応募作品の条件 |
1) 上記撮影期間と撮影地域で、かつ応募者ご自身で撮影された作品であること。なお、被写体が撮影地域内にあり、撮影者がその地域外に無意識に出た場合は、撮影地域内の撮影とみなします。（例、浅間山の上空から航空撮影した際に、飛行機が地域外に出てしまっていた場合）
2) 生成AIにより作成した写真（全部、一部を含む）は応募できません。
3) 未発表か否かは問いません。個人のホームページやSNSに投稿された作品、写真展などに出品された作品も応募可能です。
4) 過去に応募した作品は、上記の制限に抵触しない限り再度応募可能です。
5) 応募作品が他人の権利（著作権や肖像権等）に抵触するおそれがある場合は、事前に許諾を得た上でご応募願います。
6) 応募は本名にてお願いします。ハンドルネームでの応募、同じ人が異なる名前で２重に応募された場合は失格とします。
7) AI を使わずの補正やトリミングなどは応募可能ですが、明度や彩度の微細な補正以外、必ずトリミングや一部の消去などの大きな変更はその内容をエントリーの際、写真のコメント欄に記載ください。
8) 撮影禁止エリア（例えば、鉄道の線路内に入っての撮影など）での撮影ではないこと。ドローンでの撮影は許可を得たもの、航空法に基づいたものであること。
9) ＜重要＞元データやネガは２次審査の際に必要となる可能性がありますので保管願います。
注意：カメラから携帯電話の写真ソフトに転送したデータは、SNS用の小さいデータに変換されていることがあります。入賞の際には、データサイズの大きな元データがないとプリントに耐えませんので、元データやネガは保管願います。
応募方法 |
まずは、KFF公式ホームページの応募ページより撮影データ（JPEG）を送信願います。大まかな撮影場所も申請していただきますので、撮影時に場所を確認願います。フィルムで撮影された場合は、デジタルデータに変換してご応募願います。
主催者へのデータの持参・SDカードの郵送等での受け付けは致しません。
応募方法の個別指導はできませんので、ご了承お願いします。
入選者へは、メールにて通知いたします。入選、落選のお問い合わせは、ご遠慮ください。
■入選・入賞作品の利用について：著作権は、撮影者に帰属します。主催者は、入選・入賞作品につき、審査結果の公表、主催者が今後主催するフォトコンテストの告知・宣伝、主催者及び後援者等関係団体が発行する広報誌などへの掲載、軽井沢フォトフェストの啓蒙、ターポリンの再利用を目的とした範囲で、主催者及び後援者等関係団体が運営するウェブサイト、写真展・イベント・展示会、カタログなどの印刷物、宣伝広告物などにおいて、入選・入賞作品を利用させていただきます。
入選・入賞作品の利用にあたっては、入選・入賞作品を複製・改変（トリミングや色合いの変更他）をすることがありますので、ご了承ください。
■入選・入賞作品の無効・取り消し：入選・入賞作品またはそれらに写っている著作物・肖像等について、第三者から主催者に苦情、異議申立、使用差止、損害賠償など何らかの請求などがなされた場合、主催者は、当該応募を無効とし、入選・入賞を取り消す権利を有するものとします。この場合、応募者および入選・入賞者は、自らの責任と費用負担において、かかる請求などを処理解決し、主催者を免責するものとします。入選・入賞が取り消された場合、入選・入賞者は、主催者に対して賞金、賞牌、賞状、副賞を返還するものとします。返還に伴い発生した一切の費用は、応募者の負担となります。
■応募者および入選・入賞者が、反社会的勢力の関係者に該当もしくは当該関係者と取引・交際している場合も、上記と同様の扱いとさせていただきます。
■個人情報の取り扱い：主催者は、応募に際してご提供いただいた個人情報を、KFFの運営に必要な範囲内で利用いたします。また、軽井沢フォトフェスト実行委員会（KFF)および軽井沢観光協会からのメールマガジン等を通してイベントや入選者の発表をお知らせするために利用させていただきます。なお、メールマガジンからはご希望によりいつでも辞退可能です。

Our photo festival in Karuizawa is evolving! It has been reborn as an event co-produced officially with the Town of Karuizawa! Aiming to build “legacy” (what should be preserved for the future) in the Town of Karuizawa for the 2026 event, we will soon be accepting submissions of photographs. Show us the nature and landscapes you wish to protect, or cherished memories with loved ones in this beautiful region of Central Japan. Marking the 200th anniversary of photography and reflecting on KFF's first three years, for this year, we accept photos made in 2023, 2024, and 2025! Why not apply to the now more accessible “KFF AWARD”?
Submission Guidelines
(Applicants must read these guidelines in full before submitting)
“Legacy” signifies the important heritage that should be passed down from the past to the future.
2026 marks the 200th anniversary of photography's invention. The memories, people, and landscapes photographed by people worldwide throughout history are humanity's legacy—a legacy for the future that we wish to preserve forever. Taking this opportunity, Karuizawa Foto Fest will grow into a cultural festival for people who love Karuizawa, especially the next generation, aiming to build a new legacy in this place.
Show us what matters most to you through your photographs. Anyone can apply, regardless of professional/amateur status, camera/smartphone use, age, gender, or nationality.
Starting this year, judging will be conducted across four categories.
1 Nature & Landscape
2 Still Life & Architecture
3 People, Life & Food
4 Railways, Roads & Travel
Applicants do not need to select a genre. All entries will be categorized by the judges and evaluated by renowned judges from Japan and abroad.
Entry Categories｜ Single Photograph Category / Photo Series Category
Eligible Photography Period｜
Single Photograph Division:
Photos made in 2023, 2024, or 2025. However, photos previously selected and exhibited in past KFFs are ineligible. (Photos exhibited in other open calls, or photos submitted to past KFFs but not selected for exhibition, are eligible.)
Photo Series Division:
Must include at least one photograph made in 2023, 2024, or 2025. Series currently in progress or completed in any of the above three years are also eligible. Photographs previously selected in the Single Photo category at past KFFs may be submitted as part of a series.

Notes｜
1. In the Single Photographs Category, works previously exhibited at past KFFs are ineligible.
2. In the Series Category, works previously exhibited as “Single Photos” may be submitted if they are part of a series.
3. No Geographic Restrictions (Open/Worldwide) Division: Only series submissions qualify for this category.
4. Photo Series entries require 10 photographs. Our jurors had determined that a minimum of 10 photographs is needed to establish the submitting artist’s storytelling abilities and/or the project’s depth.
Entry Fees |
Single Photo Category: Free for the first five entries. Additional entries cost ¥2,500 (tax included) per set of five.
Photo Series Category: Karuizawa and Surrounding Areas Division: ¥2,500 (tax included) per series of ten photographs + statement. Open Region Division: ¥5,000 (tax included) per series of ten photographs + statement.
Entry Requirements |
1) Works must be photographed by the entrant themselves within the specified period and region. If the subject is within the specified region but the photographer unknowingly moves outside it, or the subject of the photo is within the region, the photo will be considered made within the region. Example: an aerial photograph of Karuizawa Town, made from a geo-location technically outside it, is eligible.
2) Photos created entirely or partially by generative AI are ineligible.
3) Unpublished status is not a requirement. Works posted on personal websites or social media, or exhibited in photo shows, are eligible.
4) Previously submitted works may be resubmitted as long as they do not violate the above restrictions laid out.
5) If there is a possibility that an entry infringes upon another person's rights (such as copyright or portrait rights), please obtain permission beforehand before submitting.
6) Submissions must be made using your real name. Entries submitted under a handle name, or multiple submissions by the same person using different names, will be disqualified.
7) Minor adjustments like brightness or saturation are permitted, but significant alterations such as cropping or partial erasure must be disclosed in the photo's comment section during entry.
8) Photos must not be taken in prohibited areas (e.g., inside railway tracks). Drone photography requires permission and must comply with aviation laws.
9) <Important> Please retain the original data or negatives, as they may be required during the secondary jurying process.
Note: Data transferred from your camera to your phone's photo apps may have been converted to smaller file sizes for SNS use. If your entry is selected, high resolution files are essential for high-quality printing. Please keep the original data or negatives.
How to Apply |
First, submit your photographic data (JPEG) via the application page on the KFF official website. You will also need to submit the approximate geographic location of your photograph, so please confirm the location when submitting. If you photographed on film, please convert to digital data before applying.
We do not accept data brought in person to the organizer or submitted via mailed SD cards.
We cannot provide individual guidance on the application method; thank you for your understanding.
Selected entrants will be notified by email. Please refrain from inquiring about selection or rejection status.
■Regarding Use of Selected/Winning Entries: Copyright remains with the photographer. The organizer may use selected and winning entries within the scope necessary for: announcing results; promoting future photo contests organized by the organizer; publication in promotional materials issued by the organizer, sponsors, and related organizations; promoting the Karuizawa Foto Fest; and reusing the canvases on which works are printed. This includes use on websites operated by the organizer and sponsors/related organizations; in photo exhibitions, events, and displays. Photographers will always be credited for their work.
Please note that selected and winning works may be reproduced or modified (including cropping, color adjustments, etc.) when used.
■Invalidation or Revocation of Selected/Awarded Works: Should any third party file a complaint, objection, cease-and-desist request, claim for damages, or any other demand regarding a selected/awarded work or any copyrighted material/portraits depicted therein, the organizer reserves the right to invalidate the entry and revoke the selection/award. In such cases, the entrant and the selected/winning entrant shall, at their own responsibility and expense, handle and resolve such claims and indemnify the organizer. If selection or award is revoked, the selected/winning entrant shall return the prize money, award plaque, certificate, and supplementary prizes to the organizer. All costs incurred in connection with such return shall be borne by the entrant.
If an entrant or selected/award-winning participant is determined to be associated with anti-social forces or is conducting business or maintaining relationships with such individuals, the same treatment as above shall apply.
■Handling of Personal Information: The organizer will use the personal information provided during entry within the scope necessary for operating KFF. It will also be used to notify entrants about events and the announcement of selected participants via email newsletters from the Karuizawa Foto Fest Executive Committee (KFF) and the Karuizawa Tourism Association. You may opt out of the email newsletter at any time.

現在までにキュレーションした展覧会は国内外で250を超える。クレー・インク社の代表として、同社が提供する国際レベルでの展覧会運営で必要とされる幅広い運営サービス全般、アーティスト・マネージメント、編集作業、書籍出版、写真コレクションの拡充などの分野で各方面から厚い信頼と高い評価を得る。
また、国際的写真賞、PRIX PICTET賞、ライカ・オスカー・バルナック賞などのノミネーター、日本国内でのメジャーな写真賞のノミネーター、2025-2026年度の日本写真協会賞審査員を務める。2022年 その永年にわたる写真界への貢献から日本写真協会より国際賞を授与される。

President and CEO of Klee, Inc., which provides a wide range of art-related services, including the production of international exhibitions, artist representation, editorial direction, publication of books and photography collection.
To date, she has curated more than 250 exhibitions in Japan and abroad. She also serves as nominator to PRIX PICTET Awards, the Leica Oskar Barnack Awards (LOBA) and several major Japanese photographic awards, and as jury for The Photographic Society of Japan Award 2025-2026.
In 2022, she was awarded the International Award of the Photographic Society of Japan in recognition of her contributions to the overseas promotion of Japanese photography over the years.

ハービー・山口 Herbie YAMAGUCHI
写真家・日本写真芸術専門学校校長
1950年、東京生まれ。大学卒業後、ロンドンへ向かい10年を過ごす。折からのパンクロックやニューウェイブの活況に遭遇し、生きたロンドンの姿と多くのミュージシャンを撮影する。帰国後、有名アーティストから市井の人々にまでカメラを向け、温かく清楚な作風で好評を得る。随筆家としても活躍。

Born in Tokyo in 1950. After graduating from university, he went to London and spent ten years there. He encountered the thriving punk rock and new wave scenes of the time, photographing the living spirit of London and many musicians. After returning to Japan, he turned his camera on everyone from famous artists to ordinary people, gaining acclaim for his warm and refined style.

2013年、サラ・リーンはナショナルジオグラフィック誌および関連組織初の女性写真ディレクターに就任した。それ以前の約20年間、リーンはナショナルジオグラフィック誌のフリーランス写真家として活動し、2004年に同誌シニア写真編集者としてスタッフに加わった。
写真作品と写真編集の両分野で数々の賞を受賞しており、カレッジ・フォトグラファー・オブ・ザ・イヤー、ピクチャーズ・オブ・ザ・イヤー、ワールドプレスフォト賞などが含まれる。2020年、メイン州に移住し、独立系フォトブック編集者、キュレーター、メンターとして新たな活動を開始した。
リーンはメイン・メディア、エディ・アダムス・ワークショップ、ミズーリ・フォト・ワークショップ、そして自身が主宰する「女性視点によるビジュアルストーリーテリング」で、ビジュアルストーリーテリングと写真編集を指導している。2020年以降、10冊の写真集を編集している。
ソーシャル・ドキュメンタリー・ネットワーク理事、ルーシー賞諮問委員会委員、エディ・アダムス・ワークショップ諮問委員会委員を務め、ザ・フォト・ソサエティ会員、ミズーリ州ジャーナリズム殿堂入りを果たしている。2024年にはミズーリ大学ジャーナリズム学部より名誉人文博士号を授与された。
Editor, Curator, Mentor
In 2013, Sarah Leen became the first female Directory of Photography for National Geographic Magazine and Partners. For nearly 20 years prior Leen worked as an independent photographer for National Geographic magazine until 2004 when she joined the NGM staff as a Senior Photo Editor.
She has won numerous awards for both her photography and photo editing including College Photographer of the Year, Pictures of the Year and the World Press Photo Awards. In 2020 Sarah moved to Maine and began a new chapter as an independent photo book editor, curator, and mentor.
Leen teaches visual storytelling and photo editing at Maine Media, Eddie Adams Workshops, Missouri Photo Workshops and her own Female Perspectives in Visual Storytelling. She has edited ten photo books since 2020.
She is on the Board of the Social Documentary Network, the Lucie Awards Board of Advisors, the Advisory Council for the Eddie Adams Workshop, a member of The Photo Society, and an inductee into the Missouri Journalism Hall of Fame. In 2024 she received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.

楠本 亜紀 Aki KUSUMOTO
インディペンデントキュレーター、Landschaft
東京大学総合文化研究科博士課程満期退学。川崎市岡本太郎美術館学芸員を経て、フリーランスとして写真評論、キュレーション、編集などを行う。2009年から20年まで東川賞受賞作家展ディレクター。
主な展覧会企画に「岡本太郎と戦後写真」展、「肉体のシュルレアリスム 舞踏家土方巽抄」（第35回舞踊批評家協会賞）、編集・構成に『吉増剛造 表紙』（第50回毎日芸術賞）。著書に『逃げ去るイメージ アンリ・カルティエ＝ブレッソン』（第6回重森弘淹写真評論賞）など。2025年には清里フォトアートミュージム30周年記念展ゲストキュレーターをつとめた。
Independent Curator, Landschaft
After completing all course work, withdrew from the doctoral program at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. After serving as a curator at the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art in Kawasaki City, worked on a freelance basis in photography criticism, curation, and editing. Served as director of the Higashikawa Award Winners Exhibition from 2009 to 2020.
Major exhibition projects include “Taro Okamoto and Postwar Photography” and “Surrealism of the Flesh: An Anthology of Butoh Dancer Tatsumi Hijikata” (35th Dance Critics Association Award). Edited and compiled “Gozo Yoshimasu: Covers” (50th Mainichi Art Award). Publications include “Fleeing Images: Henri Cartier-Bresson” (6th Shigemori Kōen Photography Criticism Award). In 2025, served as guest curator for the Kiyosato Museum of Photo Art’s 30th Anniversary Exhibition.

2001年にニューズウィーク日本版のフォトディレクターに就任。2004年に世界の今を写真で伝える連載「Picture Power」を『Newsweek日本版』に新設、担当し、現在通算１０００回を越える長期シリーズとして継続中。また、World Press Photo Contestのアジア地域審査員長とグローバル審査員(オランダ、2012、2014、2023)、W. Eugene Smith Grant (米、2024)、Visa pour l'Image Awards(仏、2023～）などの審査員、New York Portfolio Review（米）、Hamburg Portfolio Review（独）のレビュワーをはじめ、多くの海外のコンテストや写真祭などで、フォトジャーナリズム、ドキュメンタリー写真の編集者として活動。東京工芸大学芸術学部非常勤講師。Miiraii Creativeファウンダー/ディレクター。

Photo Editor, Curator and Educator
Hideko was appointed Director of Photography at Newsweek Japan in 2001. I In 2004, she created the 'Picture Power' section, a weekly photo essay that captures underreported topics from around the world. The series is currently celebrating its 21st anniversary, and reached its 1000th installment in 2025.
Hideko has also served as a lecturer in photojournalism and documentary photography at Tokyo Polytechnic University since 2013, and as a member of the External Review Committee at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum since 2016.
She regularly participates in portfolio reviews and has served as a juror for prestigious international photography festivals and competitions, including the World Press Photo, the W. Eugene Smith Grant, and many others. She is also the founder and director of Miiraii Creative.

1978年仙台市生まれ。東京工芸大学芸術学部写真学科卒業、同大学院メディアアート専攻修了。2005年、スイスエリゼ美術館による「ReGeneration.50Photographers of Tomorrow」に選出され、以降国内外で作品を多数発表。

Contributing artist to “WONDER Mt. FUJI” at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in 2024. Solo Exhibition “Roads to Denali” at Fujifilm Square, Tokyo in 2023.
