◉概要
写真展を開催するために必要なスキルとプロセスを習得できる1日完結型のワークショップを開催します。
WS参加者は「小さなスペースで自分の個展を開催する」という設定で、作品のセレクトやまとめ方、その展示・
額装方法、そして展示するためのレイアウト術などを学びます。
進め方は、1)座学で基本となる考え方を、2)実習で手を動かし作業をし、3)実際の現場での様々なケーススタ
ディをみていきます。
ワークショップの最終段階では、自分の個展プランを1日の成果としてプレゼンし、講師と参加者全員でディス
カッションを行います。
講師は今までに60を超える数の写真展を作ってきた現役のギャラリーディレクターです。きっとこれからの写真
活動に役に立つ、有意義なワークショップになると思います。
◉流れと内容
ステップ1「セレクト&まとめ方」(約90分)
・座学:写真展を開くために作品をまとめること、その「編集作業」に必要な考え方
・実習:持ってっきた作品をセレクトし、タイトルを考える
ステップ2「展示方法&額装」(約90分)
・座学:作品、展示にあった額装の考え方
・実習:基本の額装「ブックマット額装」を考える
・ケーススタディ:展示、額装の実例紹介
ステップ3「シークエンス&レイアウト」(約90分)
・座学:写真展のタイプにあった作品の組み方、流れ、展示レイアウト
・実習:展示構成企画、マケットの作成
・ケーススタディ:展示構成、レイアウトの実例紹介
ステップ4「エディション&プライス」(約30分)
・座学:作品販売に必要なエディションと価格のルール
ステップ5「プレゼン&ディスカッション」(約120分)
・実習:自分の個展プランをプレゼンし、参加者全員でディスカッション
◉持ち物
・個展を想定した自分の写真 10点〜30点
作業に使うため、大きすぎる作品、貴重な作品は不可。ポストカード程度のサイズまでを推奨。

Description:
This one-day, complete workshop will teach you the necessary skills and processes to produce your own photographic exhibition.
Workshop participants will work with the concept of “Exhibiting My Own Work in a Small Space” and learn to select and edit work, how to frame and lay out the work for an exhibition plan.
The course will proceed as follows:
1) classroom lectures on basic concepts
2) hands-on practice
3) case studies of various actual situations in the field.
In the final stage of the workshop, participants will present their exhibition plan as a result of the day's work, which is discussed by the instructor and all participants.
The instructor and all participants will discuss the results of the day's work.
The instructor is an active gallery director who has created more than 60 photo exhibitions.
This will be a meaningful workshop that will be useful for your future photographic activities.
Flow and Table of Contents:
Step 1 "Selection & Compilation" (90 minutes)
Classroom lecture: How to organize work for an exhibition, and the ideas necessary for the "editing process".
Hands-on Practice: Selecting the work brought by the participants and thinking of titles
Step 2 "Exhibition Method & Framing" (90 minutes)
Classroom lecture: How to frame the work and the exhibition
Hands-on Practice: Basic framing, specifically, "book mat framing" is discussed.
Case Study: Examples of exhibits and framing
Step 3 "Sequencing & Layout" (90 minutes)
Classroom lecture: How to arrange works according to the type of exhibition, flow, and exhibition layout
Practical training: Exhibition composition planning, creation of maquettes
Case Study: Examples of exhibition composition and layout
Step 4 "Editioning & Pricing" (30 minutes)
Classroom lecture: Editioning and pricing rules necessary for selling your artwork.
Step 5 "Presentation & Discussion" (approximately 120 minutes)
Hands-on practice: Presentation of your exhibition plan and discussion with all participants.
What to bring:
10 to 30 photographs you have made that might be suitable for a possible solo exhibition.
Please do not bring work that is too large or valuable, as it will be used for the workshop. We recommend that the size of the photographs be no larger than postcards.
