KFF WORKSHOP No. 4 作品制作と向き合うための土台をつくる2日間「Foundation for Photographers」by 速水惟広
軽井沢で自分らしい作品をつくるための基礎を学びませんか？
国内外のポートフォリオレビューやコンペティションでのジャッジ、また「T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO」のファウンダーを務めて、日本と世界の架け橋を担う速水惟広氏を講師に招き、写真家がどのような工夫をすれば作品がよりよくなり、またどのような活動をすれば写真家として生き抜けるかを、2月18日（土）～19日（日）の2日間、少人数で学ぶワークショップを開催します。
長年、様々な写真関係者や写真家と交流し、その活動や作品に寄り添ってきた速水氏だからこそ、いままでの実例を元に、参加者それぞれの個性を活かしたアドバイスをすることができます。
美術館が多く、豊かな自然に囲まれ、多くのアーティストに愛されてきた軽井沢での「合宿スタイル」で行うため、参加者一人一人とゆっくりと対話しながら、それぞれの作品の未来について考えます。
参加者は限定6名。ぜひ、このワークショップを通じて、作品を発表して行く上で必要な知識や技術、思考方法を学び、持ち帰ってください。

「自分らしい作品をつくるための基礎講座」（レクチャー）

・作品制作における３W２Hというフォーマット
・写真家による作品へのアプローチ方法の違い
・現時点における自分のタイプを知る
写真というのはその歴史からも様々なアプローチの仕方があり、同時にその深淵なる魅力の源泉ともなっているメディアとしての領域の広さゆえに（また、その手軽さゆえに）迷い込むと泥沼のようでもあります。ここでは、作品制作を行う際の指針となるようなフォーマットと様々な作品の紹介を通じて、現時点における自分の目ざす作品の方向を探っていくという作業を行います。

これは写真家に限った話ではありませんが、つくる活動と並行していかに売り込んでいくかが両輪として必要です。マーケティングやネットワーキングなどと言うと小難しい話のようですが、そうではなく、活躍している写真家たちが（意識的あるいは無意識のうちに）実践していることを事例と合わせてお話します。

T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO（東京国際写真祭）ファウンダー。写真雑誌「PHaT PHOTO（ファットフォト）」編集長を経て、2017年に上野公園にて東京で初となる屋外型国際写真祭「T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO」を開催。その後、2020年より東京駅東側エリアに舞台を移す。これまでに手掛けた主な企画展に「The Everyday -魚が水について学ぶ方法-」（共同キュレーター きりとりめでる、2022）、アレハンドロ・チャスキエルベルグ「Otsuchi Future Memories」（岩手県大槌町、2016ほか）。最近の活動に世界報道写真財団のJoop Swart Masterclass Selection Committeeメンバー（2020）、Photo Vogue Festival審査員（イタリア、2021）、Critical Mass審査員（米国、2022）など。
Founder of T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO. After working as editor-in-chief of the photography magazine "PHaT PHOTO," he organized Tokyo's first outdoor international photography festival, "T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO," in Ueno Park in 2017. The venue was then moved to the east side of Tokyo Station in 2020. Major exhibitions he has worked on include "The Everyday - How Fish Learn About Water" (co-curated by Kiritori Mederu, 2022) and Alejandro Chaskielberg's "Otsuchi Future Memories" (Otsuchi, Iwate, 2016 and others). His recent activities include being a member of the World Press Photo Foundation's Joop Swart Masterclass Selection Committee (2020), a juror for the Photo Vogue Festival (Italy, 2021), and a juror for Critical Mass (USA, 2022).
Want to learn the foundations of creating your own unique photographic work while staying in the beautiful resort that is Karuizawa?
Internationally-acclaimed curator Ihiro Hayami will lead this workshop. Besides being a portfolio reviewer and a worldwide competition juror, he is the founder of "T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO." The workshop will be offered to a small group of participants over two days from February 18 (Sat.) to 19 (Sun.) to teach how photographers can improve their work and what kind of activities can help them survive as photographers.
Hayami has interacted with various photographers and key players in the photography industry and has closely watched their activities and works over the years. Based on past real-world examples, he can give advice that is catered to each participant.
Karuizawa is a town with many museums surrounded by beautiful nature and popular with artists. In this rich, cultural environment, each participant is given ample opportunity to engage in fruitful discussions and think through their work and future.
The number of participants is limited to six in order to maximize each individual’s time with Hayami-san. During this workshop, you will gain the knowledge, techniques, and ways of thinking necessary to present your work effectively, and you will take all of them home with you.

Get to know your voice at this point in time
Photography is a medium that has a long history and many different approaches. At the same time, it is a source of profound fascination, and because of its broad scope (and its ease of taking), it can be a maze where one can lose one’s way. In this lecture, we will explore the direction in which you should aim for your artwork at this point by seeing various works and formats that will serve as guidelines for your creative process.

It is crucial to have a way to market your work along with your creative endeavors, and this doesn't just apply to photographers. Marketing and networking may sound complicated, but they are practiced by photographers consciously or subconsciously. Hayami will explain them with real-life examples.
